Can someone please help me in sharpening up the attached image, hope that makes sense - think you'll know when you see it.

I'd like to have it as a png - similar color. Thank you.

Sometimes you just can't polish crap, not saying the logo itself is crap. :)
I don't feel the tools used to sharpen images in photoshop would be adequate in this case. Your best bet is to take the 8 - 20 mins to mask it and re-create it. This may actually be of benefit because you could re-create it on a larger scale and make it a more versatile logo to re-scale for other projects, maybe even move it on over to Illustrator depending on how the logo will be used.
