Hello all,

This is my first time posting here. I have been actively using and learning Photoshop for about six months now. I'm currently doing some work where I have a PSD template that I'm working from, making various changes and then saving the current appearance as a compressed PNG. When I bring up the Save As... dialog, as you know, because the file I'm working from is a PSD, the default file format to save as is set to PSD.

I'd like to be able to create a custom menu item that appears under the "Save As..." menu item, is titled "Save As PNG...", and brings up the Save As... dialog with PNG already selected as the file format, so I do not have to continuously change the file format.

Is that possible? I have googled extensively and looked through the custom keyboard shortcuts and menus dialog/tool in Photoshop but can't seem to find anything that fulfills my needs.

Any help, suggestions, etc. are greatly appreciated!
