i'm just getting used to photoshop cs4 and am starting to follow tutorials to learn some new things. I don't understand what a vector is.
Some of the tutorials i'm trying all say that they are getting a vector from the Ultimate Vector Collection and i'm just curious as to what a vector actually is and how it helps create art.
Thanks! |

Hey TheUteBandit,
There are no silly questions around here, so don't worry!
A vector is a mathematically defined path, or collection of paths to create a shape. Instead of being made up of pixels, they are created using points located by their co-ordinates. As a result, they are resolution independent and can scale as llarge, or as small, as you need them.

Hope that helps _________________ Matt
