Hi, new to the group and hope someone can help me. I am stacking some macro images in Photoshop cc. Now once I get to the point where it show all the mask beside each file. There should be white part within that mask to show which part of which file its used has the sharpest. But this isn't happening. It just shows black and it's not doing what it should do, in that a sharp shot across all.

Welcome to the forum. Could you provide screen shots of your PS settings and a screen shot of the problem and give a quick run-down of your set-up hardware wise. It may be a case of updating video drivers or the like.
