Hi, I apologise if this has been discussed before, I cant think of how to search for it on here!

I am a new user of photoshop, I have been transferring RAW images to bridge from a Canon 40D. In bridge I get the preview of the photos, when you click on them it opens the image in RAW 4.6.

The problem is that when I load the photos into bridge the previews look normal, when I click on them (even just once, not even opening them), it seems to do some kind of processing and they change from normal colour to really yellow and overexposed (basically looking very unnatural). When I open them in RAW it is hard to get them back to looking "normal" as they are so far off. Prior to clicking on them the preview photo looks normal, it is only when I click on them that it changes the settings. I've attached a screen shot, the one on the left hasnt been clicked on and the one on the right has been.

I'm sure this is an easily solvable issue, but I'm not sure what is happening. Any ideas? Help!

Thanks :)

Jon

Hi Dynamic,

Have you modified the picture via Lightroom or Camera Raw before the initial preview? Both of these programs save your adjustments so it is easy to get confused on the same picture. The filesize is different between the two pictures in your screenshot, which is proof that some processing did occur. Open the preview in Camera Raw and uncheck the "Preview" checkbox. Does your image revert back to the state of the preview?

Thanks for your reply.

I definitely havent edited them previously, I literally just uploaded them via bridge, then when I click on them once to select them it changes them.

I have loaded up the changed photo in raw and unchecked the preview, nothing happens, it still stays the same strange colour.......

Any ideas?

I've never heard of this problem before.
Seeing the two pictures side by side, the first one is obviously the most accurate representation of a 1/1500 shutterspeed. My last suggestion is to put the picture through Lightroom and see how that goes, or when importing those pictures, convert them to the Adobe Digital Negative (.DNG) and see if there is a difference.

Good Luck!
