Hi all,
I've been playing with photo shop on a fairly basic level over the last number of years from PS 7 up to CS3 now. Great piece of software.
I'm by no means an expert and I'm having some issues with the quickmask not playing the game. ie
I will select a section of an image using the lasso or magnetic lasso, click on the quick mask icon and it highlights the areas as you expect it to. Set the foreground color to whit and select a brush to touch up the edges, but when I try and touch up, the brush does nothing.
Same thing for the erasor, they do nothing at all. Where is the problem?
Just a quick note. it seems to work with loaded brushes and not the default brushes _________________ When, I die, I'd like to quitely in my sleep...like Grandpa. Not screaming like the passengers in his car. |

Hi jeddell,
I know this may come out wrong, but could you possibly put down the EXACT steps you use or are attempting to use?
That way I could follow your steps exactly and see if I can recreate what you're experiencing and possibly see the problem spot.

No problems
1. Opened Photo shop
2. Opened image (tried *.png and *.jpg)
3. With the magnetic lasso tool, I traced around a segment of the image
4. Clicked on the quick mask icon.
5. Selected the paintbrush.
7. clicked on the brushed selection and loaded the default brushes.
From there it would not work with the default brushes. What I found did work was when I loaded some different brushes into the selection window and used one of those.
If you can't recreate the problem, i might just mean that my default brushes are corrupted. _________________ When, I die, I'd like to quitely in my sleep...like Grandpa. Not screaming like the passengers in his car. |
