i want to make a clean, sharp, semi-transparent structure, (think a glowing z or button) and i managed to make what i want, but end up with artifacts (still visible noise) around it.

The noise is barely visible <5% transparent, but it's still visible and i want to get rid of it.

i don't need the remaining to be as visible as it is, so the most obvious solution would be to reduce the transparency of everything by a flat number, such as -10% (making everything that's currenctly 90% visible to 80% visible, and everything that's 10% visible completely invisible) but i can't figure out how to do so, all options seem to reduce visibility by a percentage, which leaves the noise still there, any suggestions?
