When usine refine edge it works at times and sometimes it makes the edge opaque and at other times it does nothing. I am obiously doing something inconsistent, but cannont figure out what. Any Ideas??????

Hi there,
Are you using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements?
Are both of your examples selected around the exterior of the shape. If the whole layer is active (or selected) it could be that Photoshop is trying to refine the edge of the entire layer rather than the shape?

I am running CS5 and am in the mountains with a slllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww internet. When I get back to civilizaion I will try your suggestions. If anything else comes to mind please post it
