Hi,

I have a large number of images to re-size, can someone run through a automate/batch as everytime I record and 'resize action' it works but I have to clcik run everytime rather than the photo 'save as' close then re-size the next image..

Thanks in advance. :)

not quite sure what you mean here, But, the automate feature has a hang up when it comes to "Save As" instead of just "Save"

So what you want to do is, open the file, start recording, change the image size, or what ever you need, then save the file, and then close, and lastly stop recording.

Now you can apply that action to all the images in the folder!

If you need a new copy, keeping the original then you should duplicate the folders contents into a new folder before running the action

So I can't save for web then?

What I really want to do is open 50 images.
Resize one to the size I want
Save for web, in a specific folder
Close original image
Then photoshop repeat the process on the next open image, and then so on.

MAybe I was using the wrong terms, so I thought Iwould explain what I was trying to achieve.

:)

I think you can save for the web, but you cant "save as" because "save as" requires you to enter in a new file name manually, so the action is interrupted every time it is time to rename the file.

But if you just save and close you should be fine.

IT should be fine but it is not.

I have to keep clicking the play button everytime. I need a facity that states....When image has been saved and closed, I(photoshop) am to select the next open image and run through the action again.

Any ideas?

Are you running your batch through the "Bridge"?
you need to run a batch on a folder with no images open.

Right I obviously know less than I thought anyway...

Never used Bridge,

I would be opening 30 images in Photoshop, So maybe batch is the wrong word...as I don't want it all to be automatic and then have to open a new image all the time.

What is the best solution

Open 30 images in photshop and get photoshop to resize all 30 and save all 30 for web?

If you have your "Action" created, and named, next you want to make a copy of the folder and all 30 images, with the name you want them to be, next, open Brigde, it comes with phtoshop, check your applications folder for Adobe Bridge or in photoshop, "file/Browse" to open bridge.

now with bridge open navigae to the folder you want to edit, make sure you are at the level of the images, not outside the folder.

now go to "Tools/Photoshop/Batch"
and choose your action, and say "ok"
