newbie question
see attached, i want to make a transparent background, so only the text and rainbow would take up space on a webpage, no white rectangle/square bg

in my psd, there's the bg, layer1 ...

cannot find the magic that makes the layer accessible to edit?
see attached pic, thats as far as i get Confused
read about 15 layer tutorials but not finding the way to actually get at the layer to do s ...
