Although it's difficult for most, take the time to learn to use the pen tool. It's absolutley essential if you're serious about Photoshop. |

And you only need to do half the work if you use the pen tool 
Welcome to the forums life is life, if you are not familiar with the Pen Tool, Photoshop has it's own help files and here's a link that might be of some help:
