When I go to add text to my document, I get the text box, but the marker that types the text is huge, and the text goes outside the box. The text (font) is the right size, but just won't stay in the box. If you go to size the bounding box, the text disappears. I am confused; can anyone help me?

Check the resolution of your document.

The resolution is set at 300, which is what I was taught to set it at. Never had trouble like this before... Is 300 not right?

hi,
Now not sure how much help i can be but I will try... I am sort of a novice level that I am..
also good idea to mention which PS version you have sometimes it makes a difference ...

I have cs1 and the text tool is a little funcky.. smiling..

but a couple things I have noticed.....
1. the cursor size ... what I have found is that if right after I select the text tool immediately select the font you want! .. the cursor size will be more inline with the font size at that point..!! and then you can go in and do your typing.. if you make your box and then change font.. the cursor is always large... smiling.. regardless the font size you then choose ..

2. although you don't need to make a box to start typeing and youcan show the box afterwards ... I generally will click and drag and make my box first and then start typing. at this point my text will automatically wrap to keep the text inside... and if i want ican then readjust the text box size (while keeping the text tool selected) layout will change while at the same time text size remains the same...

note: if you use the move tool to adjust the box size that will automatically adjust the font size as you change the box size ..

I hope that helps....

Thanks for the advice. It seems like one time it will work fine, and the next time the text is completely outside the box and isn't scaleable within the box, because it is outside the box. I'm kind of a newbie, I know just enough to be dangerous...!

Thanks again.
