Web template design question

Ok...Been a while since Ive made a web site...my last one was rather bland and I really want this one to POP!

That said, I think I've found a layout I can handle, question is...should I slice it in PS ( i have CS and DW)? Or should I just use tables. Also, If I slice it, can I still create expanding content boxes?

Noob questions, but I gotta begin somewhere.

Slicing it in photoshop will put it in tables. I would recommend making your own tables though, as you have more control and since you code them you'll be able to move around in them fairly easily.
