great question,
Most printers print at around 260 pixels per inch,
Some print at 300 dpi, (dots per inch)
for web work 72 dpi is great.
So, if you need or want to print your images, you need to preserve atleast 260 dpi, if not 300 to be safe
but for web, 72 is good.
Also, file types, for print you want to use the .tif format, this has the best compresion results, with a larger file size.
for the web, jpg is good, for samller file sizes, with a major compresion effect. (although not enough to destroy images)
png is a good one for the web, it does not compress the file, but larger file size.
hope this helps _________________ For great Photoshop tutorials and freebies, check out www.iammrknowitall.com |
