I created a new image in Photoshop CS3 with a transparent background. It has rounded corners so I didn't want any of the white border to show through. The problem is that when I convert from a PSD file to a JPG file, white corners now appear around the rounded corners - so that the image is squared in each corner. I thought I successfully did this before without any corners but can't seem to get it now. Any help from the more experienced PS users would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Carl

Hi Carl, the problem occurs when you save the image as a JPG. For this to work you must save it as a PNG. This will give you the transparent background (in this case, rounded corners) you're looking for.

Hope this helps!

Awesome - I will try that solution tonight. I guess I'll research PNG files more...

Thanks,
Carl

Thnaks again kid. It worked. I opened up the PSD file in Photoshop and saved it as a PNG file. Worked great. I inserted into Dreamweaver and gave me the exact effect I was looking for.

I will definitely have to keep this site boomarked as I work to improve my skills in Photoshop.
