Why when I try to delete a back ground or move a person into anoher pic is it always so obvious? It always seems there is a edge on the person????? |

A simple way to deal with a sharp edge is to blur it slightly. Try using the smudge tool around the perimeter. Lower the strength to get the effect you need. |

Another method (if you're going to blur all of the outlined image and not just a portion of it), is to select it with the magic wand.
Then, go to "Select" and choose "modify" in the side-out menu, choose "expand". Generally, a setting of 1 or 2 is fine. You can then set a guassian blur to taste and blur all at once. It's very fast.
This is only a fast method if you're working with a monotone bkg, or in layers.

Also, you might want to take a look at this tutorial by Deke McClelland on how to refine your selection edges so the dreaded white (or some other color) outline does not appear.
Refine Edges
For more advanced selections, say hair, take a look at his calculations tutorial. Pretty advanced though.

I outline my selection with say the LASSO tool then go to SELECT/MODIFY/FEATHER and add a feather try about 3 first this will vary on the resolution of your image.
Then COPY and PASTE to your new image at least that's the steps for feather in CS4 if your using another version of PS then SHIFT+F6 should bring up feather...
