wrap text around shorts

I need to make this text wrap around the side of a pair of shorts.
Up till now I have cut it, try to use clipping mask but neither way seems to be correct.
Maybe it's just a optical illusion but it looks wrong.

Is there away to that so the text fits, front and back of the shorts.
