Hi Guys,
I wonder if anyone can help. I am quite an experienced Photoshop CS4 user but have recently had difficulties when tryind to use tools on adjustment layers
For example - erasing parts of a levels layer was something I used to do often. More often than not I now get the dialogue - "could not rasterize because the pixel data for this layer is not directly editable" wnen I try to erase an adjustment layer.
I have tried a full tool reset, changing bit depths and file formats but the problem persists
Any ideas???
Cheers

This happens to me a lot. The only thing I can but it down to is the fact that you haven't directly selected the adjustment layer.
Try it out. Open a new doc. stick on an adjustment layer. Erase... now. Select the actual layer (not its adjustment mask) and try to use the erase tool... you will get the message you posted in your previous post.
Maybe you have some shortcut to setup the main layer, or something you're not noticing. Has this only happened since upgrading to CS4?
