I understand that being photogenic means looking good in pictures but is it true? I mean a camera just records the light falling on it's sensor or film so being photogenic means being handsome, cute, or beautiful Right? |

It's and interesting question, to which I believe the answer is self-evident after years of working with photographs. I retouch models and 'normal' folk every day, it's amazing how a person can look on a shoot compared to how the photograph comes out. There are a host of factors that affect this however, the skill of the photographer in his art, the poses and styling of the model, location, etc. The art of a good image comes from a combination of all of these factors and more. It's not coincidence that non classical beauty makes for a more fascinating image.
I don't believe that you original supposition is correct though, photogenic to me does not mean looking 'good' in pictures but looking interesting and holding a viewers attention.
Just my tuppence worth.

That's a good question. lol. When I'm not working and doing MEDICARE insurance I really like to take pictures and do a little photography in my spare time and honestly everybody is photogenic in their own way it's just a matter of how well  lol

I don't think it's so much about looks I think photogenic is someone that's completely comfortable with a camera aimed at them, I for one hate it and a lot of people I know say the same...
