Hi everyone. I'm new here, and I'm also pretty new to photoshop.

I shot a photo of a musician, and in the photo his hand is too near the edge of the picture for my taste. I think it would look better if there were a little more space between it and the edge of the print. I'm thinking there is a way in photoshop to simply add an inch or so, the background is grey-ish, and I would like to just extend the background, or add more of it, I guess you would say.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Just isolate the BG and duplicate it and place below the body of the musician and then nudge the duplicated layer towards right to get the extra pixel of BG . _________________ Our aim is to provide high quality adobe Photoshop tutorials to all the levels, from beginners to advanced and make them pursue their own business and work. |

Before you can do that you need to increase the canvas size so your work has room to expand. Edit>Content aware scale may be helpful too (after expanding the canvas, select an area near the edge with the rectangular marquee tool and drag it out into the empty area). _________________ Free digital imaging ezine
