I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

For those of you who do photoshop freehand drawing using a USB tablet, I have a question:

Is there a setting where you set the sensitivity of the pen?

On my pen and its software i have it on the most sensitive setting. In things such as Windows Paint or drawing online, it works very well. However, when I try to draw in photoshop CS3 for the mac, i have to press down so hard that it starts to grind down the pen. Now the settings I were using were:

100% opacity, a brush about 2 px as hard as it can be.

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot

Hey babolatpdtp,

I see you're using CS3, have you tried changing any settings inside the brushes palette?

What I've done so far is set the brush to as hard as possible and make it not opaque at all. When I use the mouse everything works fine (im guessing since the mouse isnt pressure sensitive). It's only when I use the pen that it doesnt work

I used black so it would show up the best but it is still really difficult to use the pen. I'm not sure what else to change in the brushes palette (im sort of a n00b at photoshop at the moment)

OK go to the brushes palette, select 'shape dynamics' and then under the heading 'size jitter' switch the control type to 'pen pressure'.

it sounds to me like you need to adjust the sensitivity settings of your tablet. there's got to be a place to adjust the settings..
alternatively, maybe your pen nib needs replacement.
