Hello all,

I have Photoshop CS2. I only know a few basics of this program.

I have a scenario where I have two images that are of different sizes to begin with. One is 1330x2000 and the other 400x472.

Can anyone advise me the quickest way to resize these pictures to become the same pixel size so that they are symetrical. I know how to resize the pictures but when I do, both pictures never become the same pixel size because they are different in size to begin with. I have found that I need to crop first and sort of play with the cropping and the resizing of the picture. This takes forever though!

Is there a better way that I can tell it to make both pictures the same pixel size (without stretching the picture). Or can I set the crop size of an exact size then crop the main areas of each image. Wouldn't this then give me the same pixel size?

I think you guys get the idea.

Please help.

Thanks,
Geo

I'm not sure this will work in CS2, but in CS2, i would accomplish this by opening the smaller image, clicking on the crop tool, then typing '2000' into the width field and '1330' into the height field. now make a crop that includes the part of the image you want included. now resample this image (under image\resample) to 2000 x 1330 pixels.

Hey Geo,

I'd say the quickest way of doing this is by using the transformation controls.

1) Move the smaller document into the larger one giving you 2 layers but one document.
2) Select the layer you want to resize and press CTRL T (CMD T on the Mac)
3) Resize the layer to match the other one, you do this by dragging a corner handle. It helps to hold down SHIFT and ALT (or SHIFT and OPTION on the Mac) to increase/decrease the size of the layer proportionally and from the centre.
4) When you have reached the appropriate size hit the enter key to confirm the transformation.
5) Now go to Image > Trim and trim away the unwanted pixels.

There's a few other ways but this is the easiest I'd say!
