I use Photoshop CS4
I have saved a rasterized (greyscale) document as *.psd file.
With the text or image layer selected I go to Filter>Distort>Displace and choose it.
It doesn’t work, all I get is a few broken up letters in the middle of my document. I have it saved in *. jpg format for anyone prepared to help me on this one!

hi,
what did you rasterize?
generally with a tutorial they have you create a grey scale of the curtain and save as a psd file.....

the text is what get rasterized.... that needs to be because you need to work in pixals....

this link tutorial on using the diplacement is good
