could you post both images here so I can better look at them and see if I can figure out exactly what you're talking about?

image 1 - full square image

make a rounded rectangle selection and copy it.

paste into image 2.

the pasted content has blurred edges.

hope this makes sense!

thank you!

okay, so let me see if I've got this right. you want your rounded rectangle to have "hard edged" pixel corners?

so you're trying to make your corners look like this?

and here is a larger view

and this is more or less what you have?

and here is a larger view

want to make sure I know what you want ... also may I ask what you're using it for? you know ... what is ultimate goal?

thanks for your reply.

what i have is image 2.png.

what i want is image 3.png.

photoshop is automatically blurring the edges when i copy and paste the selection. i know there is some setting to make the edges not blurred but i cant remember what it is.

im ultimately trying to make a photograph have rounded edges, but would like to know what setting controls this blurred edges thing that is happening.

The first thing that comes to mind is anti-aliasing .... but I'm not sure at this point. Hmmm ... maybe one of the others will be able to help.

Of course this is a holiday weekend so many of them may not be around

If you're using the "Rounded Rectangle Tool" it is on the toolbar at top near the right side ... I'm using CS2 ... it might be different on another version.

p.s. let me know if you can't find it

The reason you don't see it is because you have the PATHS tool selected

instead of the FILL PIXELS tool

now look to the right side of the toolbar

hope this helps
