Hey Datameister

i was looking at your 3 frame comparison of ben kenobi and i noticed something

If you look at the first frame the edge glow part looks almost 3d in a way.
no offence but your one looks flat, 2d

again no offence its very hard, so no offence Angel

None taken! If everyone just told each other that their work was fine and that there was no room for improvement, where would society be? That being said--I rather disagree with you about the comparison. Blush But we're each entitled to our own opion. (You're not looking at the bottom frame, right? The bottom frame is intentionally bad. The middle frame is the effect I'm proud of.)

In other news, here's my latest. This is NOT intended to mimic the effect in the movies. I just felt like painting it all by hand, using my Wacom tablet. I ended up adding smoky effects to give the sabers a different feel.

Hi guys,

I just made a video that some of you might want to see. It's on Putfile, just 10 seconds long with my friend and I.

http://media.putfile.com/LSFight/original

I made the mistake of having the sky as part of the background for the sabers, so they disappeared when they went over the sky. The rest went pretty much as planned. I had to make the blades thick because I was using bendy sticks. Didn't bother rounding the ends of the saber either...maybe one day.
