Phase 3 Begins
Step 1: Open all your pictures (of pen) in Photoshop. From Photoshop go to FILE/OPEN,
Step 2: Then navigate to where ALL your photos are stored and highlight them all and then click the OPEN button.
Once you click the OPEN button your work area should look something like this
should look something like this
You will now have all your pictures open as well as the 'template' picture you initially created. minimize all your pictures except the first one and

Phase 4: Minimize all pictures to the bottom except the one you want to use first AND the one with the all white background.
Now we will get to your layers :o)
Step 1: go to the first pen picture and click on CTRL+A (Select All)
Step 2: click on CTRL+C (Copy All)
Step 3: go to the white background picture and click on CTRL+V (paste)
At this point, you should have 2 layers in your white background 'template' file ..... background and layer 1
let me know if you don't or if you need pictures to help you.

If you are saying that you have pen 1 in both background and layer 1 .... then click on the background layer and click on CTRL+A and then hit the delete button. This should put pen 1 on layer 1 and a blank space in background _________________ moondog

i click on the background layer and control A and when it says delete layer if I click yes the layer is gone. Now I noticed that there is a little lock on the layer background should that be there??? OK I got it I misread you. You said to hit the delete button. I did that and also took the lock off and it now has a checkered board in the background window. _________________ John T. |

sorry forgot about the lock on the background layer.
we will need the background layer to have color (white, black or whatever else shows the pen nicely)
your color pallet on your toolbar should look like this
if it doesn't just hit the letter D on your keyboard while in photoshop and it will change to this
then on the background layer CTRL+BACKSPACE and this will fill your layer with White.
then you should have a background layer that is white with layer 1 having your pen picture 1 on it

Phase 5: Go to next pen picture
Step 1: CTRL+A (select all)
Step 2: CTRL+C (copy)
Step 3: Go to 'template' picture (the one that has a white BACKGROUND layer and LAYER 1)
Step 4: CTRL+V (paste)
After finishing these steps you should have a 'template' file that has 3 layers total.
BACKGROUND (White)
LAYER 1 (pen picture 1)
LAYER 2 (pen picture 2) _________________ moondog

Mark good to see you back. Have a problem. How do I go to the next pen??? If I go to minimize the first pen photo it disapears from the layers pallette and all I am left with is the background which again has the first pen in it. I go to copy the second pen and this now becomes the first layer and it starts all over. I am missing a step or something. _________________ John T. |
