hat I have showing on my photoshop is basically what you have with the layers and the photos of the ballgame. To the right I have that window with the background. I have the white template and on top of that I have 8 layers of pen positions.

OK Mark. I played some more after you left and I figured out what I was doing wrong to load the pictures into the layers. But here is what I found, the pictures I am loading into the layers are too large when I paste them into the file thing. Do I need to resize the photos???? Or something wrong with my original settings in the file??? I set it on 300 pix X 300 pix X 72pix/in. Is that what you told me to do??? I am getting closer.

Hi John,
I knew there might be size issues .... no worries. We'll take care of this.

Okay ... when you first opened a new 300x300 pixel file it looked something like this.

What we need to do for resizing these pen pictures is enlarge the total work area to something like this

to do this is simple. it is the same as resizing any 'window' in windows. hover your cursor over a corner until you see the double ended diagonal arrow and left click, hold, and drag to resize it to look like above.

let me know when you've done that or if you have any problems.

Mark

Hello Mark

I see you stoped by. I can do that and have that ready. After this is offer you have to tell me how you can post a picture of your workspace like that. That is cool. Gives a great explanation. So much I do not know.

so once you have extended your workspace on your file it should look like this with all the pictures in it.

and now we're ready to begin resizing all of our pictures

Hi Mark

I have that with 8 layers and my white background and all have those little eyes next to them. I am ready. Mine doesn't have the rulers on the sides and doesn't have the fikle size on the bottom but do not think that is a big deal hopefully.

Okay, for the next phase we'll start with Layer 8. In the layers pallet click on Layer 8. (like in my example above I have layer 5 highlighted).

Now to resize the image.

Step 1: CTRL+T (Free Transform)

Step 2: You should be able to see this box

(you need to find a corner like what is in this picture)(you may need to drag the picture around to find it .... all this takes is to move your cursor inside the lines of your resize box and you'll see what looks like a black arrowhead, then just click and hold the button down and drag the resize box around until you see the corner as shown in the picture.)

Step 3: Once you find the corner hover over it (you'll see the double ended arrow) Press and hold down the shift button and then click the mouse button and hold it down and drag your resize box smaller. Once you have it sized down you can let go of the mouse button and shift button in that order you may need to do this a few times until you get it to look similar to this

Step 4: Once you reach the size you want ... you need to pay attention to the numbers in the boxes where the arrows point .... write them down. We will use those numbers to resize the rest of our layers so that all layers are resized exactly the same. Then hit the ENTER button (on the numeric portion of the keyboard) OR click on the checkmark (also marked by an arrow in the picture)
