OK I did that and all lines are gone. I then started over and have the first photo in the cross hairs and now have one line going each way in the teal blue color. I then placed all photos on top and all are there stacked. Ready to go.

Now, here we go

Step 1: Click on Layer 1 to select that layer

Step 2: CTRL+A (Select All)

Step 3: CTRL+C (Copy)

Step 4: CTRL+N (Create New File)

Step 5: CTRL+V (Paste)

At this point you have created the ACTUAL file we will work with. The reason we are doing this is to make sure we have no 'overhang' in our pictures on each layer.

REPEAT Steps 1 through 5 for each layer in our original picture until we have 8 layers in our new picture.

Let me know when that's done

Mark

OK Mark here is the latest stumbling block. I click control "A" then "C" and then when I click to control "N" a box opens to create file. I name it and click OK. Window opens to the left. I click control "V" and the first pen photo goes there and then all the rest of the layers in the layer palette are gone. So how do I go to the next layer???

This is where you have to shift between 'old' picture and 'new' picture

If everything has gone right so far, you should have 2 files open .... 'old' file has 9 layers (background and layers 1-8 of your pen) and 'new' file (if I read what you said right) has 2 layers in it (background and layer 1)

click on 'old' file and in the 'layers pallet' click on layer 2 and then CTRL+A ... CTRL+C

then switch to 'new' file and CTRL+V and then you will have a total of 3 layers (background and layer 1 and layer 2)

see if that works right

Mark

I tell you Mark I am begging to have a bad feeling about doing this It is evident that I do not know what I am doing at all and I am begging to lose confidence in my ability here. I know you are trying your best.

When I open the original file yes all the layers appear in the layer palette but then the new file disapears. I tried to minimize the new file and open the old file but the same thing happens. I have all the eye balls clicked on and they all load.
